Key point 1: Firstly we have to define plastic injection mold open direction and parting lines For each plastic product before you start to design plastic molds in order to make sure that core pulling slider structure can be reduced and parting line ‘s influence to plastic product can be eliminated.

Key point 2: Draft angle

Proper draft angle can avoid plastic part scrapping, smooth plastic part surface draft angle must be more than 1 degree and rough plastic part surface draft angle must be more than 1.5 degree.

Key point 3: Plastic part wall thickness

All kinds of plastic has a certain wall thickness range different from 0.5mm to 4mm. when wall thickness is over 4mm, it will cause long time cooling time and sink mark issues can be caused accordingly.

Key point 4: Reinforcement ribs

Reinforcement ribs can be well used in order to increase plastic product rigidity and reduce deformation.

Key point 5: Radius

Too small Radius may cause plastic product stress concentration and will lead to plastic product cracking. Therefore, design a reasonable Radius will improve plastic injection mold machining processing.

Key point 6: Holes

Try to simplify hole’s shape, normally round holes are applied, axis of holes direction should be the same as that of mold open direction in order to avoid core pulling application.
