Polyamide (PA), also known as nylon, is a high-strength, high-performance, wear-resistant material known for its excellent mechanical and chemical properties. Therefore, it is widely used in aerospace and other fields. Polyamide materials commonly used on aircraft include PA6, PA6/6 and PA12.
PA6 has excellent impact and distortion resistance, as well as good thermal stability, so it is often used in the manufacture of seating materials, carpets and interior parts. Pa6/6 is stronger than PA6 and can be used to make structural parts such as fan blades and propellers. PA12 is widely used and can be used to make oxygen cylinders, oil pipelines and so on.
Polycarbonate (PC) is a transparent, high strength, high toughness plastic material. Because of its good transparency, PC is often used to make aircraft headlights, portholes, dashboards and interiors. At the same time, it also has the characteristics of high temperature, high pressure, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Due to its large weight, PC is often used in lightweight processing in aircraft manufacturing, such as adding glass fiber and making foam polycarbonate.
